Mixed Kočevje subdialects (Slovene: mešani kočevski govori[1]) is a catch-all category for the Slovene dialects of heterogeneous origin now spoken in the Kočevje region. The native Kočevje German population was resettled during the Second World War and the area was subsequently resettled by Slovenian speakers from various areas and dialects, creating a new mixed dialect area.[2][3]
A lack of research means that very little is known about the characteristics of the Slovene spoken here,[2] other than that the language of the area differs from the surrounding Lower Carniolan and White Carniolan area.[4]
